Last month I had the privilege of attending the World Federation Building Service Contractors (WFBSC) Global Executive Summit held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The event was held in conjunction with Interclean Amsterdam – the world’s leading cleaning and hygiene expo. As the recipient of the Agar Cleaning Systems sponsored award for 2023 Neil Jackson Young Manager of the Year, I was able to represent both Globe Williams Australia and the Building Services Contractors Association Australia (BSCAA) at this event.
Filled with industry professionals from around the globe, the key topics that guest speakers delved into were about; Industry Innovations, Leadership, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Sustainability and Attracting Future Talents. The discussion topics at the executive summit indicated that despite being quite far away in Australia, we have a common landscape and face similar challenges as the rest of the world in the Facility Management space. By continuously bringing stakeholders together through forums such as the WFBSC Summit, we can work to overcome these challenges and build a stronger industry for all.
Throughout the week at the Interclean Show I was able to speak with many people from around the world about all things cleaning. With over 900 exhibitors across 11 exhibition halls there was a lot that caught my attention – from new trends to innovative technology. I was truly amazed at the size and scale of the show and would highly recommend distributors and manufacturers in the cleaning industry to attend future shows to grow their knowledge and network.
Absorbing all that was on offer from this experience, I am excited to have brought back strategies and solutions that we can take advantage of locally to better the building services and facility management industry.
Thank you to all event sponsors and organizers for the insightful and unforgettable experience.
